Kingscliff `On Target´ For King George Kingscliff is firmly on course to continue his bid for the Betfair Million in the Stan James King George VI Chase on Boxing Day. Robert Alner´s eight-year-old sprung a minor surprise when lifting the Betfair Chase at Haydock last month, beating Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Kicking King into third place. If Kingscliff can supplement that success with wins in the King George and the Cheltenham Gold Cup next March, he will secure a #1million bonus for Alner and owner Archie Sendell. 'He´s very much on target for Sandown,' Alner told At The Races. 'He came out of the last race extremely well. We took him hunting on Wednesday and I´m just praying everything stays right for Sandown.' Kingscliff is an 11-4 chance with William Hill and Ladbrokes for the King George and a 7-2 shot with Hills for the Gold Cup. (C) PA Sport
